Galette des Rois is a delicious almond frangipane pie traditionally eaten in France in January to celebrate Epiphany.
Our puff pastry is made using the finest French butter, filled with a delicious almond frangipane. Each whole pie has a "fève" and whoever gets this in their slice is crowned King or Queen for the day!
We are offering two sizes this year for our Galette des Rois, a large pie which generously feeds 8, or a smaller galette for a family of 4. Each of these comes with a fève.
Please note our individual galette (for 1 or 2 people) does not have a fève. We will be offering the individual ones in our shop for the month of January, these will not be available to pre-order.
The Game:
Prepare your galette on the table and slice it into even slices. The youngest member of the family must go under the table. As you hand out the slices, call to the youngest child "who's this one for?". The child will allocate the slices of galette one at a time. Once all the slices have been handed out, whoever gets the "fève" (small ceramic object) is crowned King or Queen and must wear the crown!
Note: Warm up the galette for 2-3 minutes, this adds a whole dimension of delicious!
